OUR FAQ’S

What size does my marquee need to be?

The size of your marquee will depend on the number of guests you expect, plus additional requirements such as bars, chill out areas and dance floors. You will be limited by the space available in your garden or chosen venue but we can decide this during our complimentary site visit.

What is the difference between a Matrix marquee and a Capri marquee?

Matrix marquees which are clear span meaning they have no poles inside these are bright spacious marquees with a lot of room to move around.

Capri marquees are a stretch marquee. These do not have guy ropes and are built using poles and canvas to stretch and get the beautiful shape and lines. They have poles inside and are lower and more intimate.

Both have windows and walls which can be easily removed or opened out entirely.

Can marquees be opened up in warm weather

Yes, all the walls on our tents are removable, and on our frame marquees the walls can be drawn back. Customers are asked not to tamper with the structure of the marquees however, unless specifically told otherwise.

Can I make last minute changes to my marquee?

It is advised that you confirm all your requirements at least a month before your event to avoid disappointment. You are more than welcome to ask, but extra equipment cannot be guaranteed at short notice and some items may unavailable nearer the time.

How long is your hire period

When you hire a marquee from us, it is for a weekend hire as standard unless requested otherwise.

Is the power organised for my function?

The power for your event needs to be discussed and will depend on your requirements. It will never be provided by default and needs to be specifically requested, though we will always ask you about your power requirements. For example, you will need to think about the requirements of bands, catering and marquee lighting. If you are near a property, the property’s mains should suffice but in a field or open space you will require a generator.

Do you only supply marquees?

No, we can provide an array of different marquee furniture, dance floors, lighting flooring and ancillary items to name but a few.

What floor covering do you offer?

We can provide you with a selection of flooring options, including our most popular coir matting flooring for the Capri marquee and marquee grade carpet for the Matrix hex marquees. Hard flooring can be priced on request if required.

Do you set up our tables and chairs?

We can arrange to set up the marquee furniture but this is not included as standard and will be an additional cost to be outlined and confirmed on your quote.

Are your marquees waterproof?

Yes. Our marquees are flame and water proofed to industry standards and the clear span frame marquees are completely watertight. By their very nature however, being temporary structures, they can be susceptible to extreme weather.

Will your marquees damage our garden?

We take every care to ensure as little damage is done to your garden as possible, however there will be residual damage from the pins and the flooring. This may discolour the grass due to lack of sunlight. It should return to normal within a few days however.

What happens if I book a toilet unit from DC Marquees?

DC marquees will arrange a loo unit with one of our suppliers for your event. The delivery time and collection time are down to the loo supplier’s schedule. This aspect is out of Dc Marquees’ control. Our team will pass on any details given by the supplier.
Toilet units do differ slightly and we can’t guarantee which style will be provided. This is down to which supplier is available and who can cover your area. This can be discussed in more detail and a quote supplied including delivery and pump out costs as needed.

How much does a marquee cost?

The hire of a marquee will differ in price depending on the size of the event and the number of guests. The best way to find out how much it will cost is to make an enquiry with us, including as many specific details about the event as possible. We also have a list of packages available for you to view on our Wedding and Corporate event pages.

How do I pay?

We would always ask that the full invoice be settled 30 days prior to your event, and a 25% deposit is payable on receipt and signing of your hire contract.

Are Dc Marquees responsible for the whole event?

The company is only responsible for the equipment which is provided or arranged through us.
If the client provides their own equipment or has arranged equipment from another supplier, this is your own responsibility.

Do you do a site visit?

Yes, we offer all our customers a complimentary, no obligation site visit.

What access to the venue does Dc Marquees need?

We must have clear access to the venue with no obstruction for our company or any of the subcontractors working for us.

Are the marquees insured and what does the damage waiver cover?

A damage waiver is required to hire the company’s marquees. Upon payment to the company of the damage waiver fee, the company will no longer hold the client responsible for damage to the equipment as a result of theft, vandalism, fire and explosion, storm, and tempest.
The damage waiver is non-refundable and please be aware that the client is responsible for the first £500.00 of any loss. Which often means broken furniture isn’t covered by the damage waiver. For more information, please refer to our terms and conditions.

Is insurance included in the price?

Insurance is added to the net price at 6% and is termed a ‘damage waiver’.

Can marquees be set up on uneven ground?

Yes, subject to a site visit. In severe cases scaffolding can be erected on slopes (POA), and frame tents can be built on hardstanding using either water weights or concrete weights for ballast.

Could a marquee damage cables or pipes running underneath the site?

Yes, all our marquees use stakes to secure them down so all underground water, gas, electrical and fibre optic cables and pipes must be clearly marked out by the customer.

Does Dc Marquees clear waste from the marquee?

Dc Marquees are not responsible for the removal of waste and rubbish from other suppliers. We will of course remove all our own waste and rubbish.

Do Dc Marquees offer a staff member on the date of our event?

The company doe not provide a member of staff on site for the event date.
If you would like a member of staff on site for your event, this does come at an additional cost. We do provide an emergency contact for the event if for any reason you have an issue with the equipment we have provided.

Are there any hidden charges?

There are no hidden charges when you receive a quote from Dc Marquees.  We provide you with an itemised, clearly laid out quote so you can be sure nothing is missed out or misunderstood.
